Necks
Necks feature a 25” scale length. The fingerboards have
a compound radius, from 12” at the nut to 16” at
the end of the fingerboard. These features, which help make
the guitar feel more comfortable to play, are reminiscent of
the necks on some of the older Gibson’s. Standard fret
size is, .050” tall and .080” wide. Necks are constructed
from
quartersawn mahogany and feature a truss rod that can be adjusted
in both directions.
Fretboards are quartersawn ebony. The neck/body joint consists
of a tightly-fitted dovetail joint that is bolted, not glued
together, combining traditional construction methods with the
ability to easily adjust the neck angle afforded by the modern
"bolt on" method. Standard width tapers from 2 and
one 1/8" at the 14th fret to 1 and 11/16"at the nut.
We also offer a taper from two and one fourth inch at the 14th
fret to one and three quarter inches at the nut. Bone nuts are
standard, while fossilized mammoth and walrus ivory are available
as upgrades.
